Re: Hints/Tips section
For those of you wondering what the profit margin for FWE between the SB and planet i did the math and here it is. This is in a Lanner with an IP drive Class I Teleporter an a total of 173t of free space.
Planet prices are approximate. They are not exact. Sometimes they will be higher sometimes they will be lower.
173 IP Drive 187 AP cost
173 energy selling to planet for 90
173 energy buying from SB for 40
173 Food selling to SB for 110
173 Food buying from Planet for 40
173 water selling to planet for 70
173 Water buying from planet for 30
15570 selling energy to planet
6920 buying energy from SB
19030 selling food to SB
6920 buying food from planet
12110 selling Water to SB
5190 buying water from planet
8750 Energy Profit
12110 Food Profit
6920 Water Profit
27780 Single Trip Profit
Trip total AP cost = 374
5k / 375 = Apx. 13 trips to planet and back
361140 Profit Per 5k APs
5760 Total AP in a day = 15.36 Round Trips
15.36 x 27780 = 426700 Daily Profit
About 72.228 Credits Per AP

Re: Hints/Tips section
out of curiosity, if you have time try recalculating for a different drive. i used a lower level drive (i forget which one), and had 233 free space. i suspect that because the distance is so short, the route might actually be more profitable with a less efficient drive.

No i did the math on those to. I checked the efficiency between difference drive sizes in a herc. With Fusion drive being the control of 100% efficiency each engine raises that % by about 6 with IP drive ending at about 137% efficiency. I redid the math for long trips and the numbers came out exactly the same.
Basically the IP drive is 87t to put on your ship. if you go with the highest amount of free cargo space possible while using bussard ramscoop and class I teleporter for highest AP efficiency then add in 10 for fuel on the ramscoop you end up with 112t of cargo space used.
obviously this means that smaller ships will not be effective using this set up. seeing as ships like the lanner mini only has 180t of free space, 112 would drop you down to 78t of free space. Basically your set up cannot take up more than half of your total cargo. if it does then you are running at lower efficiency than you would be with another engine size.
Its hard to prove this without showing the math or really even explain this correctly. but once i do the math it will be posted so it all makes more sense.
